Florence Archive

Italian haute couture was born in Florence, a city home to the “Florentine four” — Gucci, Ferragamo, Pucci and Cavalli.

The timeless GG logo was created in 1953 by Aldo Gucci as a tribute to his father Guccio Gucci. In 2011, Alessandro Michele, Gucci’s current creative director created the Gucci Garden - a boutique and museum in the heart of Piazza della Signoria in Florence.

To the left of the Gucci Garden’s main building is the Gucci Osteria, an intricately designed restaurant with a menu formulated by three-time Michelin star chef, Massimo Bottura.

As you exit the restaurant you enter the Gucci flagship store, displaying Gucci’s latest collections.

The recent ready-to-wear collaboration between Gucci and Adidas was inspired by Alessandro Michele’s love of Adidas Gazelle sneakers. Michele has defined the new trend of Athluxury- sportswear in collaboration with designer brands.

Inspired by NBA ‘tunnel walks’, Track + Fits is now collaborating with World Athletics to connect professional track athletes with athluxury.

Thanks to the support from Diamond League partners, the 2023 Florence Diamond League became the first Diamond League to showcase athlete style and flair outside the stadium.

The first Track + Fits cover edition for the Florence archive features JuVaughn Harrison, 2023 Florence Diamond League champion, Olympian and 6-time NCAA Champion competing in both the high jump and long jump.

JuVaughn Harrison is wearing:

  • Chrome Hearts Cap

  • Chrome Hearts ring with a pearl necklace and cross pendants

  • Denim Tears x Bstroy Denim Jacket

  • Chrome Hearts T-Shirt

  • Amiri Skel Sneakers

Other outfit highlights featured Dina Asher-Smith in the latest launch Nike x Jacquemus two-piece partnered with a Jil Sander trench coat.

A rare custom-made piece was worn by Jazmin Sawyers. Sawyers self-made a matching two-piece outfit by upcycling materials and complimented this with sunglasses and vintage rings. The details include a standing long jump printed material with a corset lace back.

Joe Fahnbulleh turned heads with his blue look, from the Braves New Era cap and Kith tapestry jacket to the Asics sneakers. This look was accessorized with silver chains, Fahnbulleh was styled to perfection.

Anna Hall combined a striking Adidas sweater dress with Prada shades. Hall’s look is the definition of athluxury.

All athlete outfits are featured on our Instagram @trackandfits. We will next be at the Paris Diamond League, stay tuned.
